Hello and welcome to my first ever flight report!!
I am very excited to be writing this report and i hope you enjoy it. This flight is the first flight in a 7 flight Journey

We arrived at the airport quite early so we sat around the airport for a while waiting for our check ins to open. They opened a little late due to Korean air having been using the same check in counter Being very slow to pack up therefore slowing the opening of our check in. We where first in line which was nice so we where served immediately and before we knew it we where on our way.
We then proceeded downstairs to immigration and security. Security was quick but we got stuck in a very slow immigration line which held us up a bit. After This we went to the Qantas Business Lounge and had some breakfast and a bit of plane spotting. Unfortunately This lounge is a bit small and didn't have much food. But the worst bit was the fact that they had changed their muesli. It was a well known fact that the qantas club muesli is the best muesli on the planet, and they went and changed it i was utterly devastated.
After 2 hours in the lounge we headed to our gate and got ready to board.
Upon boarding we where greeted with Fiji water and offered a Fiji Cocktail with honey rum. Wasn't really my cup of tea.

About 30 mins after take-off we where offered our menu and where served our meals.
The Cold canepes where delicious kicked off the meal well.
Next was an amazing salad I honestly didn't expect it to be this good 10/10
Next was the mains, I had the fish mainly because I didn't feel like the other 2. My wife had the curry and said it was amazing but a bit spicy.
Then A yummy mousse which was also amazing and beyond expectations.

Interesting routing to the States from Australia, wouldn't have expected the Fiji route.
I've never seen a CI special livery before, nice spotting.
Fiji Cocktail
- What do they put in it?
Meal and seat offerings on FJ look pretty consistent with Asian regional products on narrow bodies. We don't have a whole lot of comparisons on the site, but their catering looks slightly better than the QF offerings on trans-Tasman routes. The wine list doesn't look so great, but you don't appear to be a wine drinker.
The catering has a very Indian feel, is this common in Fiji?
the fiji cocktail had honey rum and other bits and bods wasnt really nice at all. And the wine wasnt to bad to be honest i had the cab merlot and was pretty good. And the only thing really indian was the curry. I flew the next leg and none of that menu had any curry or the likes on it. Great Flight tho and the next one even got better which i will be releasing in the coming days.
Hi there, thanks for posting this awesome first report! I love the routing on Fiji Airways to get from Australia to the US--very unique. And I love the new FJ livery...but what AvGeek doesn't :-)
It was a well known fact that the qantas club muesli is the best muesli on the planet, and they went and changed it i was utterly devastated. That good huh? You should send a complaint e-mail and get some Qantas miles for the inconvenience of not being able to enjoy the muesli :-P
Was the Fiji cocktail the only option for pre-departure beverages or was it open bar? The catering looks really good for a relatively short flight. I have to say I'm impressed by Fiji Airways based on what I see in this report.
I added the seat pic to your report for you. I just downloaded it from your link and added it (one option that you could do for pics that are too large). Was the original image over 2MB? There are several free tools to resize pics like picasa and your camera should have an option to shoot Medium sized pics instead of large pics. Also, you can use [IMG[ {/IMG] tags for pictures stored on other sites (flickr, imageshack, etc).
Overall a great first report with beautiful pics and great planespotting!
