This TBS-MUC flight would be the first of the 4 legs I would have to fly that day: TBS-MUC-LHR-LIS-FNC with Lufthansa and TAP Portugal.
The aircraft would be A319 D-AILA, delivered to Lufthansa in JUL 1996. The inbound flight was about 10 min delayed but that did have no impact on the departure time. The period between 2h00 and 5h00 is the peak traffic at Tbilisi airport, with several flights arriving and departing as red-eye flights, like AtlasJet/Global to IST, Turkish Airlines to IST, LOT Polish Airlines to WAW, Aeroflot to SVO and Pegasus to SAW. As TBS airport has only 3 airbridges some of the aircraft park at remote positions. My flight boarded on time through an airbridge and was about 80% full.
It was airborne at 4h13 at complete darkness. The announced flight time would be 3h50.
45 min into the flight it was time for the meal, a very nice and complete breakast:
It contained cheese, ham, jam, croissant, bread (which was offered from a basket), yogurt and there was option for the hot part between eggs (my choice) or pancake. Everything was tasty and fullfiling. During the meal, drinks, as usual on LH, were offered twice, with oranje, apple, tomato juice available, as long as water, coffee and tea. The crew was always very professional and attentive to the needs of the passengers.
After the meal service, the cabin lights were put off, but at the same time the sunrise started to appear from east. In fact it was just the light from the sun almost appearing as the aircraft was heading west and were fleeing from the sun, which could only be seen after the arrival at Munich.
45 min before landing drinks were offered again.
We were on the ground at 5h59, 11 min before schedule time.

A nice product from Lufthansa on those longer european flights in Y class.
Thanks for the report!
Indeed it's a really nice product since a lot of EU carrier are starting to just provide little snacks to passengers ever for longer EU flights.
Thanks for this report!
I will be flying soon on the same route: MUC-TBS-MUC.
4 hours on an A319 during a night flight: is it comfortable to sleep? Are there some blankets/pillow?
Would you recommend to book the seats in advance?
Did you enjoy Tbilissi?
Hello! The flight is very nice and Lufthansa A319 is very confortable. Pillows and blankets will be provided so it may help if you want to sleep during the flight. Meanwhile they will serve you a hot meal and some rounds of drinks will be done during the flight. In economy class you can only book seats in advance if you have a Gold card within Star Alliance. Tbilisi is a nice and modern town, you can go around on a sightseeing bus or walk by yourself. I didn't use any public transportation. It is a safe place as there police around everywhere.
